Balfour Beatty Appoints New Director Of Safety And Environment

Balfour Beatty, the international engineering, construction and services group, announces today the appointment of Sally Brearley as Director of Safety and Environment.

She joins from Railway Safety, the company formed in December 2000 from Railtrack’s Safety and Standards Directorate, and will report to Chief Executive, Mike Welton. She will join Balfour Beatty in January 2002.

Before joining the railway industry, Ms Brearley was a founding partner of Risk Solutions, the management consultancy practice of AEA Technology. In this capacity, she had extensive consulting experience with blue chip clients in a range of sectors including petrochemicals, transport, construction and healthcare.

Commenting on the appointment, Mike Welton said today:
