Heery International Wins BBC White City Contract
10 Apr 2001Balfour Beatty, the international engineering, construction and services group, announces today that Heery International Ltd, its project and construction management subsidiary, has been appointed construction manager for the enabling phase of works at the BBC’s West London White City site and will provide project management and master planning advice in the initial phases. Enabling works have just commenced on site and initial tender packages are being designed.
White City is central to the BBC’s Property Strategy for London. The full scope of the project is subject to planning approval and the BBC’s proposed property partnership with its Preferred Bidder - Insight the Land Securities Trillium bid.
Commenting on the win, Graham Rice, Managing Director of Heery International Ltd, said:

Key elements of the proposed project include a 40,000 sq m Broadcast Centre, a central office building of 42,000 sq m, a music centre of 14,000 sq m and the Gateway Office Building of 20,000 sq m. Heery will provide a range of services including master planning and management of pre-construction and early works packages.
