Awards

We continue to receive many awards to recognise good safety performance worldwide. In 2006, 26 RoSPA awards were received for occupational safety and five awards were received from the British Safety Council.

British Safety Council

BSC INTERNATIONAL SAFETY AWARDS for annual performance were received by: Haden Building Management for the 26th year, Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering - Balvac, Balfour Beatty Construction and Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering - Raynesway Construction.

• One Gold Award

Building Services Awards 2006

Balfour Kilpatrick received three awards for the Health and Safety Initiative of the Year Award, Specialist Contractor of the Year and the Major M&E Contractor of the Year.

Client Awards

Balfour Beatty Construction (Northern) received the Sustainable Communities Clients Award from the West Park Partnership.

Balfour Kilpatrick received AWE Aldermaston: Contractors Safety Shield for the second year running and the Central Networks Safety Award for their work at Stoke Schools.

Balfour Beatty Rail Projects received the BAA T5 Safety Award.

Balfour Beatty Rail Power Systems - Sweden: received a safety Certificate from their client Banverket.

Balfour Beatty Utilities received the Customer Service Team of the Year Award, at the National Customer Services Awards in September 2006

• 2 projects awarded North Carolina Department of Transportation's Certificate of Safety Achievement for the third consecutive year
• Associated General Contractors (AGC) Certificate of Commendation award for low incidence rate

• Gold Award for safety performance from the National Railway Contractors Association

Heery International Inc:

• Award of Merit for top 25% of the Churchill Casualty Ltd, Risk Control membership
• Best Project under $15M from the Design & Build Institute of America's Southeast Chapter
• Charter Builders received the Texas Association of General Contractors Award
