Audit is a key element of managing environmental risk, providing information for managers as well as assurance for the Board. As well as external benchmarking, our operations are subject to both internal and external audit scrutiny.
Internal audit: During 2006 we spent a total of 2,872 days conducting internal environmental audits and inspections.
External audit: In 2006 a total of 375 days were spent by external parties conducting audits on our businesses. These external parties include clients and certification bodies.
